Two men meet on the street. One asks the other: "Hi, how are you?"
The other one replies: "I'm fine, thanks." "And how's your son? Is he still unemployed?"
"Yes, he is. But he is meditating now." "Meditating? What's that?"
"I don't know. But it's better than sitting around and doing nothing!"

meditative techniques emphasisze the observance of sensations, thoughts or breath inorder to still the body. New age meditations include visualizations of all kind. One must remember not to get lost in the technique. They are in place to sharpen the mind so that once can witness….
The act of witnessing createness a stillness within. From this stillness springs forth a vast reservoir of intellegience.

You may choose any one of the numerous techniques available but remember not to get hauled by the technique in creating beautiful visions of transformations. The technique is just a technique do not confuse it to the actual experience. In the experience … there is only one.. the experience! No questions.
In stillness you will come to experience that there is no moment when the Self is not. Suffering is due to the identification of the Self with the non-Self. When the non-Self disappears, the Self alone remains. One does not make room for the Self from the outside. Just BE and not to be this or that. I AM THAT I AM sums the whole truth. Ramana Maharishi
